This is a one-of-a-kind guided premier city tour that lets you travel the streets of San Francisco aboard an authentic Hornblower classic cable car that has been converted into a trolley. Your San Francisco tour will feature views of San Francisco’s most popular landmarks, historic districts, and neighborhoods. Throughout the tour, there will be three stops where you will have the opportunity to disembark from your trolley for brief guided walking tours and memorable photo opportunities. Your tour guide will provide live narration and be available to answer any questions throughout the entire duration of your tour.
To begin your San Francisco tour you’ll board your trolley in the heart of Union Square and head to your first stop, City Hall. Here at your first stop, you can hop off your trolley to explore City Hall and it’s Beaux-Arts monument to the city, which showcases the beautiful movement that epitomized the high-minded American Renaissance of the 1880s to 1917.
After exploring City Hall you’ll board your trolley and be on your way to the lower Haight District en route to your second stop, Alamo Square Park. At Alamo Square Park you’ll be able to view bountiful lawns, flowerbeds, trees, and the world-famous “Painted Ladies” as seen in the opening credits on the show Full House.
Once you’re done touring Alamo Square Park you’ll return back to your cable car and begin to head towards Golden Gate Park, The Richmond district, and Sea Cliff. As we head further down the coastline we’ll begin to approach our last stop, the world-famous Golden Gate Bridge at Vista Point. Once we arrive at The Golden Gate Bridge, take some time off your trolley to admire the San Francisco Bay engineering marvel.
As we approach your final destination and drop off point your cable car will head through Pacific Heights, one of San Francisco’s most affluent neighborhoods. Here you’ll find some of the city’s most beautiful architecture including the iconic home featured in the blockbuster film Mrs. Doubtfire. To wrap up the tour we’ll make our way down Columbus Street through North Beach, Little Italy, and onto Chinatown. After Chinatown, we’ll pass through Nob Hill and arrive back at our starting point Union Square.
Passengers will meet their tour guide at the southeast corner of Powell and Post Streets in San Francisco’s Union Square across from the main entrance to Saks Fifth Avenue. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to your departure time. See the map in our Contact Us page for additional guidance.
Your tour guide will be wearing an orange jacket and holding a flag, both adorned with the Hornblower classic cable cars logo.
